Code of Conduct

The code of conduct for members of the OneQi community

This code of conduct is designed to set a standard of behaviour and professionalism for all members of OneQi. 

This document forms an agreement between OneQi and it’s members so that everyone who engages with a teacher registered with OneQi can be confident that they will be treated in accordance with the 5 guiding principles in all their interactions. 

A member of OneQi is anyone who appears on the register of teachers

The code of conduct is split into 5 guiding principles:

  • Openness
  • Integrity
  • Right to be safe
  • Respect for all
  • Clear Boundaries

Any member who is judged to be in contravention of these principles through the disciplinary procedure will be immediately removed from the register of teachers.

Openness

OneQi’s culture of openness and transparency runs through all our internal and external dealings. 

All members will share information about how they work, their policies and their current priorities on request.

All members will represent themselves openly and honestly in all their advertising and promotional material.

All members will expect their students to share any information that may have an impact on their Qigong classes with the class leaders ahead of the class.

All members will report relevant incidents and share appropriate information with regulatory bodies, law enforcement and other statutory authorities where required.

Integrity

All members are committed to a culture of integrity in all of their dealings.

All members will treat students, colleagues and fellow teachers with honesty and respect, valuing individual difference and respecting personal dignity and privacy.

OneQi will not tolerate inappropriate, discriminatory, offensive or harmful behaviour towards any person.

All members will conduct their business(s) legally.

All members will expect their students to behave with integrity and reserve the right to ask someone to either leave, or not attend their class should the students behaviour be deemed inappropriate.

All members and OneQi will hold and use personal data in accordance with the requirements of GDPR legislation and as defined in our policies.

Right to be safe

All members are committed to creating and maintaining a safe working environment for all participants, colleagues and fellow teachers within all their dealings.

All members are committed to ensuring that our dealings and our actions do not threaten the physical or emotional safety of anyone we engage with.

All members will take immediate action to ensure the safety of an individual who appears to be at risk. 

OneQi and its members will not prejudge but will investigate any claim from all sides. 

All members will endeavor to mediate where a conflict develops between individuals which they cannot resolve themselves, and which impacts on others.  

All members will inform and co-operate with the appropriate authorities if we believe that there has been criminal activity or if an individual remains at risk. 

All members will expect their students to respect the right of everyone within the class environment to be safe and reserve the right to ask someone to either leave, or not attend their class should the students behaviour be deemed inappropriate.

Respect for all

All members will respect cultural, spiritual, sexual and religious diversity in all their dealings.

Boundaries

All members will respect professional boundaries in all their dealings.
